We had the pleasure of working with Andalu Living for our town house renovation in the heart of Nerja and we couldn't be happier with the results. We recently bought a family home in Spain that needed furnishing throughout. With one owner based in the UK and the other in the Caribbean, we had no idea how to furnish the house remotely in a way that married the tastes of both parties.

After a random online search, we found Cecilia and Andalu Living, and I am so glad we did. After a brief interview, Cecilia immediately understood what we were looking for and provided options for each room from everything from furniture to lights to rugs. She worked within our budget, and everything was installed on time despite the tight timeframe. Cecilia also recommended some clever changes to the entranceway and to the fireplace, as well as the bathroom refits, which have made a material difference to the house.

We were so impressed that we are now hoping to use Andalu Living for a small project in the Cayman Islands!

Having purchased our 1970’s built Villa in Dec 2021 we then embarked on the challenge of renovating it. We knew we would need help as renovating a home in another country comes with all sorts of hoops to jump through. To name but a few there was the language, the building regulations, sourcing materials, bureaucracy and a building culture very different from our own. We needed to find a project management team that would assist us with the renovation and refurbishment of our villa. More importantly we were looking for an interior design company that would listen to us and take on board our ideas to help us realise our vision for the villa.

We certainly found what we were looking for with the team at Andalu. From our first meeting with Cecilia and Lasse it was clear that our collaboration was going to work. Their clarity and communication of how the project would be managed gave us peace of mind that we were in the right hands.

Our project involved moving walls and even the stairs to enhance the living spaces and adapt them to our requirements. New bathrooms and a new kitchen were installed and much of the floor was retiled. All the surfaces were repainted inside and out and patio windows replaced. Andalu created a concept proposal described in pictures, text and floor plans. This visual and written proposal remained the same throughout the project which is a credit to the detailed planning that went into the project at the outset.

A contractor was selected, an architect engaged, plans were drawn up and an estimated time line identified. A licence had to be obtained from the municipality’s urban building office which delayed the start date by 6 months. The building work eventually got going late Oct 2022 and the project completed June 2023 taking a total of 8 months.

Andalu managed all communications with the project team of builders, painters, electricians, plumbers and the kitchen company. They ensured that the tradesmen had all the necessary details to carry out the work agreed. They visited the project regularly and supervised the work. Throughout the construction phase we were kept updated with photos, videos and a weekly written report.

There is no possible way that we could have successfully completed this renovation without Andalu. We were able to live our busy life’s and meanwhile Cecilia and her team made our dream holiday home a reality. We are truly delighted with the outcome, thank you Andalu!
